Our Top 10 for your boating holiday at home
Many of us will be holidaying at home this summer - it's a great opportunity to explore your nearest waters. There are plenty of ways you can make your local onboard adventures more enjoyable. Here are our top 10...
1. TORQEEDO
ELECTRIC OUTBOARDS
If this is your first summer on the water and you are the proud owner of your first small inflatable dinghy, why not take the next step - and add an electric outboard. The Torqeedo range is ideal for newcomers - with it's integrated lithium battery it is lighter, cleaner, quieter and more convenient than an equivalent small petrol outboard.
2. FIXCLIP LOCKABLE CLIP
After enjoying a swim in a quiet bay, dry your swim towels by securing them with Fixclip lockable clips. Made for challenging and windy conditions - on board or camping - they hold their grip even under the toughest conditions on wires or rails from 5 - 32mm diameter. Also useful for clothes, tarpaulins etc, even in strong winds.
3. FATAL STORM
No holiday is complete without a good page-turner - and this is an epic. 384 pages retell the story of the tragic 1998 Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Rob Mundle takes you through the history of the race, the excitement of the start, the thrill of competition, the challenge and the fight to survive.
4. GILL 90L ROLLING CARGO BAG
One of the upsides to not being able to fly is that you can take a much bigger bag with you. This 90L rolling cargo bag from Gill makes transporting all your kit much easier thanks to its smooth rolling wheels and cushioned grab handles. It features wet & dry storage compartments with a U-shaped 2-way zipped opening
5. DINGHY WHEELS
Make light work of moving your new inflatable or dinghy around with these convenient and durable wheels. Extra wide with strong stainless steel axles they are ideal for manoeuvring on sand, slipways and gravel.
6. MUSTO FAST-DRY BRIMMED HAT
When you're holidaying in the UK you have to protect yourself from both the sun and the rain! Musto's Evolution Fast-Dry Brimmed hat is comfortable and secure when you're active onboard. Side vents give ventilation; the wide brim keeps the sun at bay, and the UPF 40 fast-dry fabric will give you shorter drying times between those summer showers.
7. STAINLESS STEEL PORTABLE GAS COOKER
With a stainless steel frame this gas cooker won't rust like cheaper camping versions. Perfect for a trip on a day boat without a galley, or for a picnic on the shore. Its elegant and easy-to-clean stainless steel top is compact and easy to operate. Runs off 220gm cans of Butane gas - can last 4 hours on medium heat. Has adjustable flame and flame failure device.
8. SEVYLOR 15PSI PUMP
Many families are paddleboarding or kayaking in an inflatable craft for the first time this summer. While the footpump supplied with your paddleboard is certainly up to the job of inflating it, you could treat yourself to this powerful 12V compressor type air pump - ideal for inflating SUPs and kayaks. It plugs in to a 12V cigarette socket and is excellent value too.

The PureWater ™ All-In-One Clean Water Kit by Forespar® includes all the parts needed for you to install and enjoy clean water on board your boat. The space-saving tap (solid brass chrome) has an integral carbon filter element that does not require under-counter access to change. Quick & easy to install and maintain.
