Description
VisionAnchor Smart Anchoring System

A Gamechanger - Delivering the most Enhanced Anchor Safety for Family, Crew and Your Investment.

VisionAnchor S: The Future of Safe Anchoring
VisionAnchor S detects immediately when your anchor drags, reducing worry and risk and avoiding mishaps and damage.
Traditional anchor alarm apps and chart plotters track a vessel's position, not the anchor. As a result, your vessel is at risk, as it can move within a set perimeter, typically 20 - 40 meters or more, without triggering an alarm. By this time, the vessel could be underway and, aided by strong wind or current, in danger, be it grounding or colliding with another yacht at anchor.
Only by monitoring the anchor can a skipper have total peace of mind and confidence that his family, crew, and vessel are safe and secure.
Based on real-life experiences, the VisionAnchor founders have developed a high-precision monitoring solution for anchors. This solution obtains super accurate anchor fixes by tracking four positioning systems, delivers rapid position updates, monitors communication from the monitoring unit to your vessel, and dual alarms.

Key Features

  • The intelligent solution consists of a self-adjusting buoy
  • The Smart Box, clips into the buoy. It processes and transmits the satellite fix multiple times per minute to the onboard and powered base station.
  • The Base Station receives the data, alerts if the anchor is outside the user-defined radius and connects via Bluetooth to the user's smartphone or tablet, which triggers an alarm. The Base Station also monitors and indicates communication from the buoy and Bluetooth to the App and is the Smart Box charger.
  • The VisionAnchor App (iPhone or Android) lets users set the radius of allowed anchor movement from 3 to 30 meters. The usual recommended setting is five metres. The App presents the anchor and vessel position with a map of the anchorage, the buoy's battery status, and one of the dual alarms.
  • 12v plug and 220v charging adapters, a charger cable, a mounting kit and a manual are supplied.
  • The tether's 400kg rating enables it to act as a trip wire if the anchor becomes stuck. The manual explains this process.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Immediate detection and alarming of anchor movement
  • Uses four satellite services for improved fixing
  • Communication Monitoring, Buoy to Base Station (LoRa) and Smartphone or Tablet (Bluetooth)
  • Dual Alarming
  • Buoy visible to all vessels either at anchor or underway
  • The system is so easy to install and operate.

No more anchor anxiety.

Frequetly Asked Questions
Why should I use VisionAnchor S instead of my boat’s GPS location system?
Vision Anchor tracks the location of the anchor itself as opposed to the location of the boat, which may be affected by wind, current, and other influences.  It indicates whether your boat is safe and secure at anchor and takes the guesswork and worry out of keeping you and the people on your boat safe, especially in rough conditions.
Is VisionAnchor S proven?
Yes it is. Born from a three-year development program (initial concept, design, prototyping, Beta testing to final product launch), VisionAnchor has delivered a fit-for-purpose and reliable product, with the first units purchased in mid-2024.
How deep can I anchor?
VisionAnchor S has a 25 m (65 ft) tethered line. Considering the waves and tides, 20 m is the maximum depth for deploying the VisionAnchor S system.
Will the tethered line dislodge or lift out the anchor?
No, the tension is controlled by the self-adjusting line module located within the buoy, designed and tested to allow the buoy to rise and fall without affecting the anchor.
How long does the battery last?
The current battery usage is two to seven days. You can quickly recharge the buoy’s Smart Box using the Base Unit’s wireless charger anytime.
How do I attach the buoy to my anchor?
You will receive a standard D-shackle that connects the line to the anchor. The line attaches to the crown of your anchor or the roll bar on anchors such as Rocna. If you are unsure, please send us a photograph of your anchor, and we will provide you with the best approach. [email protected]
What if I lose my phone or its battery dies?
A common problem. But the VisionAnchor has dual alarming. The onboard Base Station also alarms.
Why is it better than my anchor alarm app or chart plotter?
The difference is that traditional anchor alarms track the vessel's position, not the anchor. When an anchor is set, it is laid into the prevailing wind or tide, whichever is stronger or predicted. Using a traditional Anchor Alarm App, a large geofence is created to allow for the amount of chain laid and vessels swing, perhaps twenty to forty meters, maybe more. Therefore, the Anchor Alarm App will only sound when the vessel moves outside the user-defined radius. No alarm will sound if the vessel is within its large radius and the anchor has dislodged! Then, the vessel will be underway and gain speed over the ground, risking grounding or collision with another vessel at anchor. It is the same for a chart plotter. VisionAnchor’s user-defined radius is typically set to three to five meters, but users can adjust to a larger radius if appropriate. It measures the anchor’s and not the vessel’s movement. Therefore, when the VisionAnchor alarms, the anchor has just exited its radius. It is dislodged and dragging. This early notification of anchor drag affords valuable time to counter the issue swiftly.
