Deks Olje D1 is a high-performance, clear wood oil that deeply penetrates timber to replace lost natural oils. It protects and preserves wood from the inside out, rather than forming a surface film. This means no cracking or peeling – just long-term, reliable protection that’s easy to maintain.

Designed for hardwoods and softwoods, Deks Olje D1 works especially well on dense or oily woods that are difficult to treat. Whether you're restoring teak on a boat or protecting a garden deck, D1 offers a natural matt finish that enhances the wood’s natural grain and beauty.

Use it on both interior and exterior wood, including vertical or horizontal surfaces. It can even perform in marine environments – above and below the waterline.

Preparation & Application

To get the best results, apply Deks Olje D1 to bare or weathered wood. Make sure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from old finishes, dirt, and grease.

• Sand new wood with 100 grit paper or treat with Aquanett followed by Net-Trol
• Weathered wood should be cleaned with Net-Trol
• Remove old oils and coatings with Aquanett or Dilunett and neutralise with Net-Trol

Application is simple:
Apply D1 wet-on-wet using a brush or roller, keeping the surface saturated. Once the wood won’t absorb any more, wipe away the excess with a cloth dampened in D1. Allow 3 days for it to fully dry before putting into service or applying D2 for a glossy finish.

Maintenance

To keep the wood looking fresh, simply clean with Net-Trol and reapply D1 once the timber begins to grey. Usually one or two coats is enough to restore protection and finish.

Handy Tips

• Do not allow D1 to dry between coats during initial application
•  Only apply to bare or D1-treated wood – remove other finishes first
• Avoid use on thermo-treated wood or untreated plywood
• Use between 5°C and 35°C and avoid hot surfaces or direct sunlight
• Dispose of soaked rags properly as they may self-ignite

Standard Returns

If you are not entirely happy with your purchase, we will exchange or refund your goods in full, provided that the items are returned within 14 days of receipt.*

Please check the condition of goods on arrival - we are unable to accept goods damaged during shipping after 14 days.

Returned goods must be packaged securely, with all original packaging undamaged and in a saleable condition i.e. shoe boxes must be in the same condition as when received.

Goods must be unused and security seals intact.*

If you would like to return goods because they were ordered incorrectly or if clothing does not fit, return postage will be at your expense. If you would like us to replace the goods with another size or colour, we will charge carriage on the replacement.

Please be aware that some navigational and safety products may be dated, and as such a full refund may in some cases not be possible. If you are purchasing dated navigational charts we suggest you contact us for more information.

Faulty Goods

If you receive your goods and believe them to be faulty, please contact us straight away with a brief description of the problem. If we require you to return the product for a replacement, we will send you a pre-paid Royal Mail label for delivery back to us. Unfortuantely we cannot send the courier back to collect the items.

Returning goods to Force 4 is easy!

1. Please contact us by ringing 0345 1300 710 or email on [email protected]. This way we'll be able to determine whether you would like to return the product for a refund or whether you'd like to exchange the product. We are unable to process the return of faulty goods that we're not expecting.
2. We'll then give you a returns number. This returns number will need to be clearly marked on the outside of your parcel so it can be identified on arrival. Please note, failure to mark a returns reference number on the outside of your parcel may result in a delay in processing your return.
3. Don't forget your proof of postage, just in case!
4. Once we receive the item we'll be able to proceed with a refund or an exchange.
