Icom IC-M506 VHF/DSC - Icom’s first VHF with an internal AIS receiver and NMEA 2000 connectivity. The IC-M506 has a large display for clear viewing of both the channel and AIS vessel traffic information. A four button soft key driven menu system provides easy and fast operation. Active noise cancelling ensures crystal clear transmission and reception. Fully waterproof and built to Icom’s usual high standard.

Product Questions

Is a separate AIS splitter or antenna required with this or will it receive AIS through my VHF antenna

AIS information is transmitted within the frequency range of VHF, so a splitter and separate antenna optional but not vital.

This VHF has an internal AIS receiver, although is not able to transmit AIS information.
