Mechanical boat engine controls
Dual function controls - Very popular type of control system due to the way they make handling the boat feel very easy. Shifting can only be done at low power, which is of benefit to protecting the engine, and the fact that throttle is on the control makes everything feel natural. Two cables are used with these controls, one for shift and one for throttle.
Single function controls - A very basic system of working your engine, as one lever does one job, either power or shifting. The control itself maybe a little bit more sophisticated and have two levers (one for each shifting and power).
