Your chance to win a Kingfisher Splicing Kit RRP £125
Do you know how many metres of rope we have at Force 4?
How long is a piece of string? Not the easiest of questions to answer, but it crossed my mind the other day as I walked past one of the nine rope racks in our warehouse and realised that we still can’t fit all our stock on them!
So, I ran a few reports, and came up with the answer of just how much Kingfisher, Liros and Marlow rope we have in stock in our mail order warehouse and across our 12 stores.
LETS SEE HOW CLOSE YOU CAN GET TO THE RIGHT ANSWER...
Whoever's guess is closest to the nearest half metre will win a Kingfisher Splicing Kit RRP £125.

Meet our Force 4 Experts
William Booth, Clothing Director
William has 30 years experience in the marine industry and joined Force 4 in 2012, setting up and opening the Plymouth store. His passion for the water started at a young age - and he spent much of his time with his father at Crosby Marina Lake windsurfing and fishing off the coast of Anglesey at every opportunity. He pursued his love for water sports by training to be an Instructor at The National Watersports Centre for Wales, Plas Menai in North Wales where he worked as a Senior Instructor for over 10 years teaching sailing, windsurfing and powerboats. Management roles in chandlery (retail and trade) followed, extending his experience in product knowledge and the marine industry. After joining Force 4 he became Clothing Director in 2016. He enjoys being hands on and helping his customers find the right solutions, "I love my job - it is full of variety - no day is the same".
Pip Johnstone, Director
Pip has been with Force 4 since 2006. He became manager of the Lymington store in 2007 and manager of the flagship Deacons store in 2012.
He grew up sailing on Poole Harbour in the 1980s before moving to Devon to learn about tides in 1990s on the Bristol Channel. Returning to Poole in 2006 he raced on various yachts inshore and offshore and competed at several Nationals in J105 and Nationals & Eurocup in the RS400 class.
He now maintains and sails the family cruiser - a Hunter Channel 27 - and is looking forward to sailing the new family dinghy RS Quest.
Neil Paramor, Chandlery Director
Neil joined Force 4 in 1996, when the Bristol store was first opened. Brought up on the Kentish coast, Neil grew up around boats, but didn't actually start to sail seriously until his late teens when he started crewing on race yachts. Going to university in Southampton kept him close to the water and gave him even more opportunities to race. He was lucky enough to crew on a number of boats that had very successful campaigns in regattas and events all along the south coast. He still sails whenever the opportunity arises, and also gets out as often as he can on his bike.
Leigh Jacobs, Electronics Director
Leigh has been with Force 4 since 2009. He looks after the Marine Electronics side of the business and works closely with the suppliers to keep up to date with the latest developments in this field.
Lawrence Taft, Chandlery Buyer
Lawrence joined Force 4 in 2017 and is the buyer for the Force 4 group of chandleries. He is a keen boater, loves both sail and power boats, and can't resist a project! He ran his own chandlery for over 10 years.
