Fishfinders are a great asset if you intend to fish on board your boat, they use SONAR to measure water depth and indicate where fish are. Choose between basic black and white displays to large full colour screens.

Fixed VHF radios can be permanently mounted on board your boat in the cock pit for easy access. Constant power from the battery can be added to ensure that you'll always be able to use it, and external antennas can give signal a boost. Plus fixed units will often have bigger displays and clearer buttons making ease of operation that bit better.

Global Positioning Systems on your boat have become more and more popular, mainly due to the fall in price and size of the components used. External antennas can be added to ensure a higher signal, fixed units can be mounted on board your boat and often offer larger screen displays than their portable counterparts.

Handheld GPS units are now very common, but it's important to remember that being onboard a boat is very different. Your handheld global positioning device should threfore be suitable for it's environment. for that reason we sell some waterproof handheld GPS units, some units come with Marine Packs, or you can add a waterproof bag. Plus will stock all the essential accessories to keep your unit fully charged.

Ensure you know where you are in relation to your surroundings. Plotting your course on a chart can now be done via computer or on the unit itself via a nautical chart. Important for reference where you are with hazzards, land and other chart elements.

Handheld VHF radios are a necessity when going out on any size boat on the water. They are high frequency radios that provide two way communications. It's worth considering whether your VHF radio will require batteries, can run on on board power supplies, can be charged up whilst on the boat, or whether you need spare batteries. We often have customers buying two sets of handheld VHF radios, a second set will often be cheaper option and only used if the other Radio's were to fail. We now sell waterproof VHF radios and water buoyant radios, it is also worth considering the size of the radio.

Get up to date and accurate information on board your boat to ensure you're in complete control of whats going on. Knowing the water depth could save a nasty repair bill and is well worth considering to make sure you avoid shallow water. Boat speed and wind speed instruments will offer you good information to assist in your navigation of the boat.
