- BlueChart is Garmin's exclusive marine cartography which complements their range of marine chartplotters and handheld mapping products. The detailed nautical charts appear just like paper charts and include a host of features. Cursor movements over the chart provide descriptions for contour depths, chart number, navaid name and much more.
Each chart area is available in 2 formats - g2 or g2 Vision.
BlueChart g2 charts include the following features:
Seamless chart presentation, shaded depth contours, inter-tidal zones with spot soundings, wrecks, navaids with range & coverage with light sectors info, port plans, restricted areas & obstructions, anchorages, tidal current graphs, 2D or 3D map perspective view, marina points of interest & slipways, full bathymetric fishing charts.
BlueChart g2 Vision charts include the following features:
As per g2 with the addition of full colour aerail photos of ports, marinas, bridges & navigational landmarks, detailed coast roads upto 5 miles inland, points of interest i.e restaurants, lodgings etc, Realistic "view from space" high-res satellite imagery, True 3D-view "mariners eye" above waterline imagery, "Fish eye" 3D-view below waterline imagery, Auto guidance technology to suggest best passages, Tidal current flow overlay.
